The reason why Apple can not use flexible OLEDs for Iphone6

Anticipated slowdown in smartphone and television OLED technology development over 2014
Although both Samsung and LG’s have become concerned over Chinese penetration of the LCD industry, advances in OLED smartphone and television technology development seem to be slowing down. The large OLED TVs that both these Korean companies brought onto the market in 2013 have proved too expensive to many potential customers. “Next year, both Samsung and LG will focus on ultra-high-definition TVs, as the yield issue for OLED TVs is not expected to be solved by then,” Kim of Eugene Investment said.

Samsung is probably not going to go for curved display panels in the Galaxy S5!
Samsung appears to have decided not to use the Youm a curved display panel in their Galaxy S5 smartphone. “The current capacity for flexible panels is not high enough for the Galaxy S5, which will be rolled out early next year. Curved ones will be unveiled late next year as a Galaxy variant rather than as a flagship model,” said Kim Jong-hyun, an analyst at Seoul-based Eugene Investment & Securities. Anticipated domestic sales of Galaxy Round are not expected to rise beyond 50,000, and therefore Samsung decided to delay its A3 line of flexible OLED panels.

At present they can handle 8,000 5.5-generation sheets each month. This is enough to make to make a maximum of half a million flexible smartphone panels with a 30% yield. An anonymous source close to Samsung said that once the A3 line is funded they should be able to make a million panels by the end of 2014.

It also looks like that Apple will not (can not) choose to use curved display panels!
Apple has apparently rejected the idea of using curved displays with its iPhone 6. “It is difficult for Apple to adopt curved display next year, though 2015 is more plausible,” said John Seo, a Shinhan Investment analyst.

The only practical sources of supply, Samsung Display and LG Display, are unable to even meet their own requirements. LG Display is said to be able to make 12,000 4.5-generation sheets each month, and Samsung a somewhat larger amount. Another industry source contended that with Japan Display even further behind, LG Display could well be the main supplier with Samsung Display close on their trail.

LG Display has also not enough production capacity to deliver bendable OLEDs on plastic substrate for Apple.
We think in 2015-2016 there is enough capacity to deliver new categories smartphones which are bendable/flexible.
